Pearls are unique—each pearl has its own shape, colour and lustre, adding a sense of luxury. As pearls are a natural material, they require special care. With proper handling, your pearl jewellery can retain its soft glow for generations.

Pearls are organic and porous, making them more delicate than many other jewellery materials. With proper care, they retain their natural lustre for a long time:
Put your pearls on last – take them off first
Pearls are sensitive to perfume, hairspray and make-up. Therefore, let them be the last thing you put on before going out, and the first thing you take off when you return home.
Wear them often
Pearls benefit from being worn, as the skin’s natural oils help them maintain their lustre. However, avoid wearing them during physical activity or when in contact with water and chemicals.
Cleaning and care
Wipe the pearls after each use with a soft, slightly damp cloth to gently remove dirt and skin oils that may affect their lustre. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, polishing products, silver dip, ultrasonic cleaners and mechanical cleaning, as these may damage both the pearls and the thread they are strung on.
Store separately
As pearls are soft, they can be scratched by other jewellery, and they do not thrive in overly dry environments. Store them in their own soft pouch or in the box they were delivered in. Our jewellery boxes are ideal for storage, equally suitable for use at home or while travelling.
