Care for your diamonds

Diamonds and gemstones are created to be worn and passed on through generations. With proper care, their brilliance, durability and beauty can be preserved over time.

Make it last a lifetime

Diamonds are created to last a lifetime and retain their brilliance for generations. Whether natural or laboratory-grown, a diamond possesses the same beauty and characteristics. To protect both the stone and the jewellery, avoid hard impacts and contact with chemicals such as perfume, cleaning products and hairspray. We also recommend removing your jewellery during exercise, swimming and household tasks to preserve its finish and shine.

Diamond is the hardest natural material in the world, but the stones in your ring may still be subject to wear over time. Sudden temperature changes can, for example, cause cracks, while certain beauty products and perfumes may stain the stone. Jewellery set with gemstones or diamonds is best cleaned using lukewarm water and a small amount of mild washing-up liquid. To restore the diamond’s natural brilliance, gently clean the jewellery with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Rinse carefully and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. When not being worn, jewellery should be stored separately in a soft box or fabric pouch to avoid scratches from other pieces, especially other diamonds.

Let your ring age naturally with care

Your ring will age naturally and, with daily wear, it will inevitably be exposed to signs of use such as scratches and small marks on the band. However, you are always welcome to return your ring to us for polishing and the removal of minor scratches.

Over time, even well-cared-for jewellery will show signs of natural wear. We therefore recommend regular professional inspection and cleaning to ensure that settings and mountings remain secure and that the diamond stays safely in place.

If you own a wedding ring, it has been plated with rhodium — a white precious metal that enhances the ring’s lustre. With regular wear, the rhodium plating will gradually wear away over time. We recommend returning the ring for re-plating when needed to restore its original finish and brilliance.
