To ensure that your Efva Attling jewelry gives you pleasure for many years, it is important to take care of it in the best way possible.
General use and care instructions
Keep it in the accompanying box when not wearing it. Wipe with a polishing cloth after each use to remove make-up, grease, odors etc. Take jewelry containing precious stones to a jewelers once a year to check stones and mountings. Remove your jewelry when bathing, doing the dishes, gardening etc. to protect it from unnecessary wear. Avoid sleeping with jewelry on, which also exposes it to unnecessarily hard wear. No metal, including silver and gold, can tolerate salt or chlorinated water.
White gold jewelerys
White gold jewelry is electro-plated with rhodium, a white precious metal, to give it additional lustre, which can wear off. The outer layer can be renewed by taking the piece to a jewelry store for re-plating if so desired.
Efva Attling Stockholm uses nickel free 925 silver. Silver can sometimes darken, i.e. become oxidized. This can be due to the minerals and salts secreted by the body and can be remedied using ’Silver dip’, a product available from specialist retailers.
Care instructions (specific) for Balls collection
Necklace and cuffs
When cleaning, use only cloth. Do not dip in liquid, fluid into balls can cause damage to the jewelery.
Rings and earrings
Clean with polishing cloth but can also be dipped in more severe oxidation.
General for the Balls collection
After use, the jewelery should be wiped with a tack cloth or other soft cloth. When the jewelry is not used , it should be kept in its silk bag or box so no scratches occur during storage.
Pearls should be whiped after use with a lightly moistened cloth. To ensure they retain their lustre it is important that they do not come into contact with substances that have a degreasing effect, such as perfume and dish soap. It is best to keep pearls covered (but avoid using cotton balls, which has a desiccating effect).
Clean your jewelry regularly and it will retain its appearance.
